the pax post (just a few days late)

April 2nd, 2026

i would've written about pax sooner, but i got sort of distracted and might have forgotten to do that. so, i'm doing the next best thing and writing about it now! i only went there for saturday since i was going mainly for the warframe panel, but oh by the divine was that such a fantastic time. we got into boston after a 5 and a half hour drive and the city itself was simply beautiful, having only ever been to new york, philadelphia, and london, ontario, boston felt like such an insane breath of fresh air of a city. part of me wonders if it was because of how old it is, but also NYC and philly are pretty old too, so i have no clue. the expo center itself was god damn HUGE, like, i knew the place would be big, but that was absurd to see. i swear i kept finding new booths at every turn, even some 5 hours in i found new booths. i got a set of damn beautiful dice from this one booth, and then completely forgot to buy a candle from another one and i am still beating myself up over that. buuuuuttttttt, i did get a cute little hollow knight pin! so i'll take the wins where i can get them.

of course, we did more then just walk around, first thing was the warframe panel, beautiful fun panel right there, my buddy who came with me knew basically nothing about the game, so it was really interesting to see his perspective on it all. he had played a little bit some years ago, but it had been a long long time since his last time logging in. after they played the voruna prime trailer he just turned to me and said he would be reinstalling the game when we got home. and honestly, i can't blame him, that trailer was absurdly good. post-panel we were just kinda strolling around the expo floor, making some poor financial decisions, the usual, and we end up walking into the 2xko tournament that was going on. now, i'm not crazy big into fighting games, but that was a ton of fun to watch. we were hellishly rooting for this one player, i think his name was james06, dude was fighting using a gamecube controller and was actively 1v2ing these guys and absolutely kicking their asses. i wish we had stayed for sunday because we would've gotten to see the finale of the tournament, but ah well, we shall try again another year (btw, if you watch the 2xko stream, there is a moment that we're on camera).

i'm planning to go again next year, and when i do im debating if i get a hotel room or not so that i can go for another day or two. maybe next year will be a cosplay year (depends on my money situation). 'tis all in the open for now though, gotta wait and see what happens. enjoy some pax pictures, you an find some more over in the pictures tab.
